Custom Paint Mixing Made Simple

Finding the perfect paint color for your sign project doesn't have to be complicated. Whether you need an exact brand color, a custom match, or a specialty finish, Glantz can help. Our Distribution Centers offer custom paint mixing for both Matthews Paint and AkzoNobel paint systems. If a color can't be mixed at one of our locations, we can arrange direct shipment from the manufacturer to keep your project moving.

What You'll Need Before Ordering

To ensure an accurate custom mix, there are a few details you'll want to have ready.

1. Choose Your Color

The first step is determining the exact color you need.

  • Pantone® (PMS) Color Number - The quickest and most accurate way to identify your color.
  • Matthews & AkzoNobel Paint Databases
  • Physical Sample - If you're trying to match an existing color, we can perform color matching using a sample you provide. Keep in mind that custom color matching requires additional time to complete.

Helpful Tip: Many national brands and companies already have established paint formulas on file. If you're matching an existing corporate color, let us know - we may already have the formula available.

2. Select the Paint Manufacturer and Series

  • Matthews - Satin N Series (Nuance), SOA Series (Gloss), SV Series, LVS Series, or LVG Series
  • AkzoNobel - Grip Gard Base or Grip Gard Base EFX LV

3. Select the Finish

Once the color has been identified, you'll need to choose the desired sheen or finish, such as:

  • Matte
  • Satin
  • Gloss
  • Sparkle
  • Other specialty finishes

The finish affects the final appearance just as much as the color itself.

4. We Verify the Formula

After we have your color and finish information, our team works directly with Matthews or AkzoNobel to obtain the correct mixing formula. This ensures your paint is mixed to the manufacturer's specifications for consistent, reliable results.

5. We Mix and Ship

Once the formula is confirmed, we mix the quantity you need for your project and ship it to you as quickly as possible. Whether you need a small amount for touch-ups or larger quantities for production, we'll prepare the order to your specifications.

Before You Place Your Order

Because every custom paint order is mixed specifically for your project, it's important to verify all information before production begins.

Custom mixed paints are non-returnable, so taking a few extra minutes to confirm the details helps ensure you receive exactly what you need the first time.
